Letter # 6

New Guinea December 26, 1944

Dear Mom,
I received your letter acknowledging the receipt of my suitcase so you can disregard that item in my last letter.

We spent a pleasant Xmas (as well as can be expected) here. We had a turkey dinner in the afternoon and in the evening attended a show. The show was put on by the soldiers stationed here and was pretty good. After the show they had the picture Saratoga Trunk with Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman. That is a very good picture and I highly recommend it.

On December 24 we gave the Japs a Christmas present consisting of eight 1000 lb. demolition bombs. We bombed one of their airstrips. I'm not allowed to disclose the name of the place due to censorship regulations.

There's nothing more to add at the present time so I'll say goodbye.

My regards to all

Love Avy
