Letter # 44

April 18, 1945

Dear Mom,
I received your letters of April 2nd and 6th last night and I'm glad to see that Ben was able to get home. I hope it won't be long before you have all three of us home for good. I also noticed that you received my $350.00. I was beginning to get worried about it as you will see when you receive an earlier letter of mine.

To date I've only received that one package but will probably receive a lot more in the near future. Some of the other boys are beginning to get theirs. I need some Vaseline hair tonic so please enclose a couple of bottles in you next package. You can also enclose a glass mirror and anything else you want to send me. I flew again yesterday and now have a total of 21 missions which brings me up to 176:45 combat hours. I'm still maintaining a good average and I should finish up in 48 missions. At that rate I should finish in nine or ten months.

I'm very happy that Ben will be stationed so close to home because he should be able to come into New York almost every weekend. In any event he'll be home a few times before he goes to sea if that's where he is scheduled to go.

I haven't much more to say since I wrote two days ago so I'll close for now.

My regards to all

Love Avy

P.S. I have a few letters from Ben I haven't answered so tell him to write me as soon as he has a new address.
