The only reason I'm writing this letter is that I know you want to hear
from me as often as possible. I'm therefore writing this to keep you from
worrying as much as I can.
The other day our forces started the invasion of Luzon which is the
final step in the conquering of the Philippines. Our next step will
probably be a blow against Japan proper, I hope. It will probably take a
while to clean up the Philippines but I'm very hopeful that it won't take
too long.
By the way, what is the story about Gladys? Did she get married already
or when is she getting married? If she is already married please send me
her new address and I'll write her. I haven't written her so far because I
don't know what the status is.
