Letter # 71

September 3, 1945

Dear Mom,
Well, a new month has started and there's still no word on my status. I only hope that favorable word comes thru soon. We're going to move up to Tokyo in a very short time and I'd like to have something definite to write before then.

I received your letter of Aug. 15th from Plattsburgh and I'm very glad that you're having a good time. Now that gas rationing is over I suppose there'll be plenty of automobile rides again.

The reason I haven't written to Jerry in such a long time was because of his very temporary address. While he was in the staging areas and provisional companies, his mail probably got kicked around and when he would get it the mail would be very old. As soon as I can get a permanent address I'll be able to resume correspondence with him.

That's about all I have to say for the present so I'll say so long.

My regards to all

Love Avy
