Letter # 67

August 17, 1945

Dear Mom,
I received your letters of Aug. 1st, 4th and 6th and also a package containing apricots, peanuts and Krispy Krunch. The last item was split open due to the fact that it was in a cardboard container.

Now that the war is over there are a lot of rumors floating around. So far there has been no official statement just what the disposition of our grout will be. Some say occupational air force and some say back to the states. Just what will happen to us has not been determined.

We absolutely nothing to do but wait. I went to town the other day and came upon a scale. I immediately weighed myself and to my surprise I was 171. I had imagined that I would be heavier and I'm very satisfied.

It's hard to write because of the activities. My daily routine is as follows. 10:00 AM Wake up
12:15 PM Eat lunch
01:00 PM Play volley ball
04:00 PM Take a shower
05:15 PM Eat supper
06:00 PM Play volley ball
07:00 PM Take another shower
07:30 PM Go to the movies 4 nights a week otherwise read
11:00 PM Go to sleep

As you can see I get plenty of sleep. That's going to be a hard habit to break. I've gotten up for breakfast 3 times this month. In previous months I only ate breakfast when I flew or when they had fresh eggs for breakfast. I'll have to learn to eat breakfast all over again.

That's about all I have to say so I'll say s'long.

My regards to all

Love Avy

P.S. I'm enclosing a bill that the Japanese printed in preparation for their invasion of Hawaii.
