Letter # 63

July 14, 1945

Dear Mom,
I received three more letters from you dated June30th, July 2nd and July 4th. I also received another package containing hair oil and mirror. So far this month I have sent money home three times. You'll probably receive money three different times in denominations of $1501.00, $100.00 and $250.00. Most of that comes from my winnings at the dice table. Not bad, eh?

I now have a total of 41 missions, 356:20 combat hours and 94.3 points. Under the new system I don't know when I will be able to go home but I hope it won't be too long. I've been overseas 7 1/2 months and I figure that's long enough.

I received a letter from Frank Law yesterday and he's home. He expects to be in New York at some time during his leave and will give you a call. He doesn't know where he'll land after his leave is over and will probably come over here.

We've been having some rainy weather lately but it hasn't been too bad. It's not bad when it rains but when the wind blows, it's terrific. The tent damn near blows away.

I haven't been doing much writing lately and I owe quite a few letters. Please explain to Ben and Jerry that I'll write them as soon as I have time. I also owe letters to Aunt Mary, the Hoffman family, the Fleischman family and many others and I'll answer them in due time. I've had quite a bit of work to do lately and I'll write letters again when that work subsides.

That's about all for now so I'll say goodbye.

My regards to all

Love Avy
