Letter # 21

February 7, 1945

Dear Mom,
I received two more of your letters dated Dec.30 and Jan.8. I think those letters should be the end of my old mail and from here on they'll come to this APO regular.

There's nothing much I can answer in those letters so I'll carry on with conditions here at present.

I flew another mission this afternoon which brings my total up to eight missions and 63:55 of combat time. This gives me a total of 13.8 points towards the necessary 100. My bombing isn't bad at all and it's much better than back at Tonopah. The reason for that is that the planes are maintained much better and the pilots are much more experienced.

It hadn't rained for three days up till this afternoon when it showered for about 3/4 of an hour. It wasn't enough to make the area very sloppy so we're very happy.

We keep a gasoline outside the tent to catch the rainwater in for shaving and washing and the barrel was pretty nearly empty.

That's about all I have to say for the present so I'll say goodbye.

My regards to all

Love Avy
